Ogle wins two
The Samuel Ogle Middle School Rams continued their winning ways with their second and third games Monday. The Rams defeated teams from Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School and Nicholas Orem Middle School. Ogle defeated Eisenhower, 12-1, and then Orem, 7-0.
Between both games each Ogle player either managed to get on base or get an RBI. Hitting highlights in the game against Eisenhower included a two-RBI single by Corey Fields, an RBI triple by Connor Hax, a two-run home run from Derek Goode and a two- RBI single by Colin Grove. The entire lineup batted in the first inning with hits from each of the first seven players.
Isiah Lopez pitched all three innings in the game, giving up only two hits and striking out five batters while helping himself out by hitting three singles and scoring twice.
Batting highlights against Orem included an RBI single by Conor Craig to start the scoring in the bottom of the second inning and a three-run home run by Goode in the third. Fields pitched three innings, giving up just one hit and striking out eight batters.
The entire lineup batted around in the third when they exploded for six runs. Also contributing to the victories were Greg Brown, Floyd Eller, Nick Gary, Marco Harrison, Chris Moore, Alan Ottenstein, Kyle Spinks, Freddie Stevens, Gary Thomas and Jake Wersick.
