For most of her high school playing career, Linnel Macklin was a silent but effective leader for the Bowie High girls basketball team. Hardly the type of in-your-face leader some coaches prefer, Macklin led by example. She routinely earned above a 4.0 grade-point average, and on the court she was the epitome of a player with a fantastic work ethic, one which helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 4A South championship last season and an appearance in the 4A Region final.
