Bowie High School Class of 2001 will hold its 10-year reunion Saturday, Sept. 24, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Annapolis Sheraton. Tickets are $67 until further notice. Bladensburg ’61

This is the first of three stories profiling the new Bowie school principals.

Rodney Henderson is the new principal of a school he has always considered one of the best in the county.

Henderson, a classroom teacher at William Beanes Elementary, assistant principal at Longfields Elementary in Forestville and then principal at Kenmoor Elementary for eight years, will now serve as the head of Kenilworth Elementary.

Prince George's County Public Schools are closed Tuesday.

Central Offices will open two hours late. All 12-month personnel are expected to report. A Liberal Leave policy will be in effect for non-emergency personnel.

CHAPEL FORGE students were particularly busy during December. They learned about and created activities for the theme of "My Five Senses." Lily the dog, along with her owner Barbara Acuna, came to visit individual classrooms. The children enjoyed petting Lily’s soft fur and throwing the ball for her to catch.
