Late or incomplete items may not be used. --- Choral group forming The city of Bowie will sponsor a performing choral group for boys and girls in grades five through nine. Rehearsals will be Thursdays, Jan. 21 through May 31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at City Hall. Participants must either live in the city of Bowie or attend one of the following Bowie schools: Bowie High, Tall Oaks Technical Academy, Samuel Ogle or Benjamin Tasker middle, St. Pius X Regional, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Holy Trinity (lower campus), Heather Hills, Highbridge, Kenilworth, Northview, Pointer Ridge, Rockledge, Tulip Grove, Whitehall or Yorktown elementary. Registration is $50 for city residents and begins Nov. 2; $55 for nonresidents who must attend a Bowie school and begins Dec. 1. 'Brigadoon' 2nd Star Productions presents "Brigadoon" Nov. 6 through Dec. 5 at Bowie Playhouse in Whitemarsh Park. 'Mayhem in Marlborough' Darnall's Chance House Museum, 14800 Gov. Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, presents "Mayhem in Marlborough" Friday and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Take a ghost walk of historic Upper Marlborough replete with Colonial spirits and mischief-makers. Taste of Bowie Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee and Soroptimist International of Bowie-Crofton present the second annual Taste of Bowie and Fabulous Fall Fashion Show to benefit their scholarship funds Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Boswell Hall, 6111 Columbian Way, featuring great food, fabulous fashions, theme basket raffles, entertainment and the opportunity to network. 'Glenn Dale Asylum' Tulip Gulch Productions and the Bowie Baysox present "Glenn Dale Asylum" Fridays and Saturdays in October. Anniversary celebration Patrick Lundy and The Ministers of Music will celebrate their 15th anniversary in a live recording concert featuring Lady Tramaine Hawkins Saturday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. at Reid Temple AME Church, 11400 Glenn Dale Blvd., Glenn Dale. Regency Ladies' Day Enjoy a leisurely day at Riversdale House Museum, 4811 Riverdale Road, Riverdale Park, and experience and take part in a variety of 19th century pastimes and entertainments. Ladies are invited, in period costume if you like, to the c. 1807 home of Rosalie Stier Calvert and her husband, George Calvert, Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants will create a period commonplace, or scrapbook, gather inspiration from the garden with floral-based activities, blend perfume, use natural dyes to make icings, and more. A presentation on regency hairstyles will be given. The afternoon will end with a tea service accompanied by a reading on Calvert, the mistress of Riversdale, and her gardens.
