| Speed cameras will soon debut in Bowie

Bowie will become the second municipality in the county to implement speed cameras on roads. The City Council unanimously agreed Monday night to set the cameras up in school zones around the city. The city will use the same camera operators used in Montgomery County, that has had speed cameras for the past three years. The General Assembly paved the way for cameras for other jurisdictions across the state earlier this year. New Carrollton passed legislation to set up speed cameras in late August.
