Women's basketball - pro or semi-pro - is not all glitz and glamour.

While most basketball aficionados are more than familiar with Lisa Leslie, Rebecca Lobo and Marissa Coleman, not many are familiar with Erica Hallman, Melissa Washington or even former Bowie High Lady Bulldog Ashley Whisonant.

The D.C. Bluestreakz hope to change that.

And though perhaps not considered blue chips by the WNBA, Hallman, Washington and Whisonant respectively attended Kansas, Wake Forest and Arizona universities. Not too shabby for a trio of semi-pro players who play their home games in Bowie.
